Sae-Hwan is a senior data analyst at the Penn Medicine Nudge Unit and a member of the Health Economics Data Analyst Pool. Sae-Hwan earned his PhD in health outcomes research at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Sae-Hwan’s research focuses on supervised and unsupervised statistical learning based on multi-layer patient data. His dissertation combined these approaches to examine how health care facility design affected patient safety in the context of care-associated infection control.
His current work at the Nudge Unit involves comparing different methods of data collection from wearable devices to develop enhanced risk prediction models and developing algorithms for the dynamic prediction of health care utilization.
